Who is Osho Rajneesh, Introduction to his early life: Osho Rajneesh was born in Kuchwada, a village in Madhya Pradesh, central India, in a poor Jain family. He was given the birth name Rajneesh Chander Mohan by his grandparents, when he was around 11 years old before joining the school.
Osho was sent to live with his maternal grandparents after his paternal grandma passes away. They give him access to an amazing and extraordinary environment of respect, freedom, and love, even he joined school at the age of 11. According to Rajneesh’s statements, this had a significant impact on his growth and his willingness to fearlessly examine and confront everything for the sake of the truth.
During 1960s, Osho was known as Acharya Rajneesh in his initial days, when he used to be a professor in his early days after completing his education. By the 1970s, he had become Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, and letter on he became Osho during his last years.
Rajneesh Jain, the Indian Saint, philosopher, and godman was also known as Osho. He established himself earlier before becoming famous, during the Rajneesh movement, which made him famous among people.
He was strictly against organized men-made religions like ‘Is-lam and Christianity’ because, in Osho’s opinion, these religions cannot bring spiritual peace and mediation. According to Osho religions are trap by which one can not attain peace and happiness.
He discovered one of famous dynamic meditation that he used to teach his followers in his ashrams in Pune and Rajneeshpuram ( U.S.A), he advocated for regular meditation practices.

Babulal Jain, a dealer of cloth, and Saraswati Jain had eleven children; Rajneesh being the firstborn. Up until the age of eight, he resided with his maternal grandparents. Since his grandma allowed him complete independence, this had a profound impact on him and helped him gain perspective.
Osho’s education
Rajneesh got the admission in Hitkarini College in Jabalpur, but, he was instructed to leave the college after disagreements with a professor. Letter on, he enrolled in Jabalpur’s D. N. Jain College.
He started working as an assistant editor at a local newspaper and began speaking in public at the annual Sarva Dharma Sammelan while completing his studies. After completing his studies, Rajneesh started teaching at Raipur Sanskrit College and at Jabalpur University and became a Controversial Professor.

March 21, 1953: At early age of 21 Osho attains enlightenment. Osho’s word during that experience “I had been working on myself, suffering, and doing everything that could be done for many lives, but nothing was changing. The effort itself was a barrier. Not that reaching is possible without trying. While searching is necessary, there comes a time when it must be abandoned. And on that day, the hunt came to an end and it began.”
Rajneesh after experienced a spiritual awakening, he chose to abandon his position as a professor at University of Jabalpur. He began traveling throughout India and challenged orthodoxy of mainstream religions and even mainstream political ideas. After he got cult following, Osho established his first meditation centers in 1962, movement Jivan Jagruti Andolan, or the Life Awakening Movement. These centers are called as Jivan Jagruti Kendras.
Letter on, he decided to move to Pune in 1974 where an ashram was constructed by the trust of Osho. Throughout these seven years (1974–1981), Osho delivered a ninety-minute speech almost every morning, in Hindi and English each month in the Poona Ashram. Moving to America
After talking every day for almost fifteen years on every topics of mankind and religions, Osho declares a three-year self-imposed period of public silence in March 1981 before going to America. At that time Osho Rajneesh was suffering from a disease, after on the advice of His own physicians and doctors and due to the potential need for immediate surgery for a degenerative back disease, He decided to the United States. In the same year, He receives an invitation to visit a 64,000-acre property in Oregon from His American disciples a desert area in the state. Eventually, Osho decided to remain and stay in the United States and he submitted an application on behalf of his permanent residency.
Death Of Osho
After living 5 years in Amrica, Osho came back to Mumbai in 1986 and soon chose to reopen his ashram in Poona.
In the Poona Ashram Osho sudden experiences an abnormal pulse in his chest. Doctors wanted him to admit in hospital but Osho responded, “No, please let me go,”. Osho Rajneesh said to everyone, Life determines when it happens.” before leaving the body, Osho told everyone to celebrate his death with singing and dancing.
Osho left this world at 7:00 p.m. and his followers in the year of 19th-January-1990. Remains of his body were taken to the Buddha Auditorium in Gautama for a festive occasion, after which they are cremated by being transported to the flaming pits. The registered Osho International Foundation (previously Rajneesh International Foundation) runs the Ashram – OSHO International Meditation Resort.
