Neem Karori Baba died on September 10, 1973, at night, in the Ramakrishna Mission hospital. Babaji Maharaj has already fixed the date of his leaving this mortal body, when maharaj-ji left his holy body. Devotees of Neem Karoi Baba were confused about whether they should burn his body or give him samadhi. Then Pagal Baba a holy saint suggested to his followers that the elements within the ashram be combined with his physical body. As so, on day of September 11th, the auspicious Ananta Chaturdashi, the followers with tears in their eyes built a platform of sandalwood and burned Baba’s actual body that day Shri Neem Karori Baba left his body and went back to Lord Hanuman’s Dham.
On that precise site, Baba Neem Karori’s followers constructed a beautiful memorial temple to protect his lifeless remains.
